Located in Pyes Pa Tauranga, ACG is a prestigious private School that caters from early learning right through to college education. A significant roll growth within the senior school led to the requirement of a new senior learning block. The structure is a two-storey structural steel, concrete and masonry structure that includes 7 new classrooms and a Library. The structure is linked to an existing gymnasium structure so alterations were also carried out to this structure to allow for integration of the new and existing buildings. During construction BSK were also engaged to complete a Civil design for a new carpark.
BSK carried out complete structural design for the project and worked closely with the client, contractor, architect and other design consultants to deliver the brief within a tight programme.
The project included a number of challenges including building over significant amounts of services, building up to and integrating with an existing structure and pushing the envelope of reinforced masonry walls. BSK completed a detailed 3D drawing model using AutoCAD Revit as part of the project Building Information Modelling (BIM).
BSK also completed construction monitoring and carried out a civil pavement and stormwater design for a new carpark during construction.
